My soap box!
I LOVE to write (duh) but I usually don't get to share my writing with anyone other than professors. So here are some papers and projects that I am super proud of for those who are interested in what a B.A. in Sociology and Spanish might encompass.
This is a hypothetical research proposal for studying how mass shootings affect intra-community trust.
This paper was for a world religions class that really opened my brain and left me more curious than I was when I started.
This was written for a criminology class way back when. I find the topic of prison and crime control super interesting
This was written for an amazing theory class by Dr. Ranita Ray (I love her) where we learned to explore sociological issues through established theories. This piece uses ideas of intersectionality from Kimberle Crenshaw and Hortense Spillers to explain why white women tend to vote with their race and not their gender.
This paper is from a research project for a Spanish phonetics class where we used fancy software to assess how confident Spanish and English bilinguals are in speaking their second language. Because this was a group project the writing is not the best but the topic is super interesting if that's your thing!
This was written a long time ago for a class at Wenatchee Valley College. It's actually a speech so it is written the way I would say it, but I am proud of how much I learned in this class since history is not my strong suit.
